Five Little Figs is hidden away on the corner of Ashbrook Ave and Devitt Ave in Trinity Gardens and it is cute as a button. When I stepped inside it was buzzing with sounds of little children and it instantly felt very homely. It felt more like popping in to your friends place for lunch than a cafe.
I love how Five Little Figs is decorated with it’s rustic artwork & furniture you could find in any suburban house. It helped give this cafe a very warm & comfortable feel.
I first sampled the raw Strawberries & Cream Cheesecake. I had never had a ‘raw’ cheesecake before & my first reaction was it didn’t taste like the cheesecakes I’m used to! But this didn’t matter because it was delicious & I liked that it wasn’t too sweet. Also it was served on a plate & with a fork that I have at home! How cool is that?
For lunch I had smashed avocado on toast with marinated feta, baby spinach & dukkah. It was SO yum. Such an explosion of flavours & the dukkah really lifted the dish. I now love dukkah & want to cook with it everyday. I would have liked a little more feta but that’s only because I love feta & could eat a whole tub of it. It also had a balsamic reduction which added a nice hit of sweetness. It was the perfect lunchtime meal.
I also ordered the Vitamin C Juice which had Oranges, Lemon etc. (I can’t remember what else). The juice wasn’t bad but wasn’t very sweet. I’m guessing this is because oranges aren’t in season at the moment so naturally they aren’t very sweet. But I guess that’s what’s so great about Five Little Figs. They seem to use all natural & fresh ingredients. So I wasn’t too bothered by this.
I LOVE Five Little Figs! Such a cute & welcoming little cafe! I will definitely return someday for breakfast as they had some other tasty options I’d like to try.
Until next time 🙂 x
